Good Friday

Even though we don't technically celebrate Good Friday, we decided to celebrate in our own way. We've all have recently contracted a very bad case of Spring Fever - the weather the past week has been in the low 70's and the grass is turning green, the bulbs are starting to bloom, the wind is howling (some days at 50 mph)...and, oh yeah, the allergies are kickin' in...MUST be spring in Albuquerque!

Trey and I took the day off to spend with the kids...those of them that wanted to been seen in public with us (the girls). So we took Bella and Paige to lunch (Red Robin...seems appropriate for spring) and then off to the zoo (Paige's favorite place on earth it seems).

We saw A LOT of monkeys (see all the pictures of them below) - some of them were climbers, some of them were swingers, some of them were so dang cute! And some of them...well, they looked just like two of my kids! (The one swinging by its tail just cracked us up)

After visiting all the monkeys, we decided to say hello to the giraffes...one of them got a little close and nearly kissed Paige with that long old grody tongue! Trey kept moving further and further away and the tongue just kept getting closer and closer (and I couldn't get my camera to zoom out fast enough). Of course we all thought it was hilarious, which made Paige even angrier. She has now decided that giraffes are her "least favorite" animals of all!

After the trauma of the near miss with the giraffe, Paige was ready to leave. So we made our way back to the front to see her all-time favorite...the flamingos. The only thing she doesn't like about them is the smell. She constantly asks, "What that smell like?" But, given the fact that they are PINK, she is willing to suffer through it to watch them. Maybe if the giraffe had been pink and wearing a tiara, the kiss wouldn't have been so bad!
