Easter 2008

I barely got my Valentine's Day decorations put away and Paige was hammering me to get out the St. Patrick's Day decorations. Imagine my surprise when I looked at my calendar and realized that Easter was less than a week after St. Patrick's Day this year! (This actually turned out okay because now I have all of April and May...decoration-free). But that left me little time to find a dress for Paige...and this was the year she decided that ALL the dresses were too babyish and "floofy" - so we actually agreed on this one (which was my compromise to get her into something dressy, and her compromise to get a second dress which was less dressy - thus it has begun!). Don't be surprised...it ISN'T pink...

Easter was very low key for us this year - the older kids were with their dad and it just isn't as fun to hunt for Easter eggs without a little competition. But we did color eggs and Paige was very creatively using glitter pens to add a little "bling" to her eggs (after seeing the movie "The Game Plan" she now wants a Bedazzler...great!). Even daddy got into the "bling" of things....and we were finally able talk Paige into using some other dye colors...besides just pink. And, I also refrained from doing any animal print eggs this year...that was overdone last year. :)

Easter morning, after finding all the eggs, we sat down and had an Easter lesson using our "Resurrection Eggs" - I didn't think Paige was really listening until later that morning when we went to church and the speaker was talking about the linen they found in the tomb...Paige tugged on my sleeve and said, "That is what we were talking about earlier today." I was so proud of her for listening.

Later in the afternoon, we went to Mimi and Papa's for dinner and another egg hunt for one. Uncle Lance and Auntie Misa joined in on the fun...Later, both Uncle Lance and Uncle Leigh got a confetti egg over the head...Happy Easter!
