Through the Years - Travis

The day every parent dreams of for their child has arrived...graduation day! It is hard to believe that the baby boy once laid in my arms is now done with high school. Bittersweet is the only word I can think of to explain the feeling. Right about the time your oldest child graduates from school, you realize you are right there with them - graduating from 18 years of parenting.

Here is my oldest, Travis, ready to leave the nest and start off on his own journey into the world and here I am second guessing myself and that job I've done. Have I taught him well? Will he remember what I've tried to instill in him? What paths will he choose in his life?

Travis had a great Senior year, filled with accolades - two year Academic Letter, two year Football letter, two year Golf letter, two year DECA letter, All Academic All Metro in Football, Most Improved Defensive Player (football) and Athletic Scholar. He has worked hard in high school (and had fun) and now it is time to move on to the next step.

We are very proud of him, of his accomplishments, his choices and his focus and we look forward to seeing how his future plays out. He will be attending New Mexico State University with a major in Chemistry and moving forward towards a degree in dentistry at the University of Colorado in Denver.

We love you, Travis, and hope that you always remember where you come from and will "return with honor."
